If you can, cast your mind back to 1986. A lot if our readers were in the early stages of their childhoods and most hadn’t even heard of a jetski or the sport of jetskiing.Little did we know in the USA the sport of personal watercraft racing was growing flat-out, your average watercraft was a standup type ski and powered by 300cc of 550cc engine.
While this was happening four Californians with a strong passion for Motocross and Watercraft saw that no one was focusing on rider apparel in this growing sport of jetskiing. Their motocross background gave them the vision and design concepts that changed the industry to what we are today. The Jetpilot brand name was chosen from the guys from their experience of racing Moto X at a Pro level in America and Europe. They were called Moto pilots if you rode Moto X bikes in Europe. They didn’t want to call the brand Jet Ski Pilot racing apparel as Jet Ski was a Kawasaki trademark name for their watercraft products, so the brand Jetpilot was the title of the new direction in watersports gear.
The company is very focused on becoming a Global leader in watersports and Clothing and nearly 30 years on, the brand is still one of the most recognised brands in the watercraft industry and as every year passes they are developing new products to keep us warm and protected and looking stylish while out on the water.
2012 has seen Jetpilot using some of their original designs with their F20 Tigershark range, this new range offers the new quality and fitment with the retro style colours and graphics from their early years.
Being one of the top brands associated with our sport, NZ Jetski is very happy to have the support of Jetpilot for the summer of 2012/13.
