Well done to Jason Donnithorne from Christchurch. Now a world champ!
Jason took on the world on his Brad Clarke built Kawasaki SX-R1100 in the Amateur Veterans Ski Open class and took home first place. In race two he came off the line and 3rd out of the split. By halfway through the race was out the front and just continued to pull away from the pack and held first place till the chequered flag. – Well done from everyone back home.
Darrell Dermott also from Christchurch qualified well but after a couple of average starts struggled against the pack, coming in 7th in the Sport Spec class on his borrowed Sea-doo HX.
Tayne Lemon from Auckland had a good first race finishing third, after two false starts in the second race he had to start with a dead engine (lanyard on your head) so started at the back. Made himself half way back up to 7th on the water. Next race s he got a first and second place but got docked for missing buoys, finishing 4th overall is still a great effort. Tayne is racing in multiple classes over the next few days so we will try and keep you updated.
Just waiting for some more updates, please check back soon.
