The sun decided to help out the Canterbury Jet Sport Club for their third round of the 2012/13 South Island Summer Series. The great weather drew along a great crowd and a full field of racers.
The ever popular ‘Stock’ Pole Ski class had plenty of excitement and great racing with a field of 14 competitors lining up on the start line and battling it out for the four rounds.
An all new Ladies Pole Ski class of 5 showing it’s not just a males sport and rightfully attracting plenty of attention from the crowd. It’s been many years since a full ladies class has competed and it’s great to see them out on the water racing.
The blaster class saw a good handful of ski’s out there, showing a lot of fun can be had on a very small budget, I was very lucky to be lent a ski to compete in this fun class, I didn’t do the best but had some of the most fun that I had on a ski for a long time.
This class has so much potential with a lot of old ski’s hiding away in the back of garages that would be more than welcome to come along and compete. The Canterbury Club still has their Blaster Cup which by the sounds of it will be up for grabs at the next round!
Results will be up on the Canterbury Club website soon.
The next round will be held on the 16th of Feb and like normal will be held at Lake Roto Kohatu, at the top end of Sawyers Arms Rd.
